Running a Profitable Videography Business

Entrepreneurship and marketing course

Did you know that
9 out of 10 small businesses close within their first 2 years?

Learning the craft of filmmaking is one thing; learning how to manage your own filmmaking business is another.

Everyone dreams of becoming their own boss -- making money doing something you love while avoiding the daily 9 to 5 grind. Every dream, though, requires hard work, patience, and passion. It also comes with risks.

You can be the best in your craft yet still get a small number of clients with a mismanaged business. This is what we want to avoid. This is why we want to help you.

Marketing and entrepreneurship

It's easy to put out a Facebook post or send an e-mail, but the real challenge lies in your strategy.

Who am I trying to reach?
How do I effectively reach them?
Are my rates too high or too low?
Am I spending more than I am earning?
What makes me stand out from other videography businesses?

These are a few questions you might want to consider.

It's nothing to fear, though. Just like filmmaking, marketing and managing your own business is a craft that can be learned. And that is exactly what we're going to teach at our 1-day marketing and entrepreneurship course.

                         Identifying one's mission statement

SHOOT! School students draft a concrete mission statement for their business. This acts as an "invisible hand," guiding people within the organization.

Students hard at work

Here's a behind the scenes photo of us shooting behind the scenes footage from the course. How could we teach a course on running a filmmaking business without doing some filming ourselves?

Ready to take on the industry

SHOOT! School students smile as they successfully complete the "Running a Profitable Video Business" course.

"It's not enough to know your CRAFT but you also have to work out how you're going to STAND OUT in an increasingly competitive and saturated market. Thank you to all the mentors that I've been with for enlightening me on how to run a profitable videography business."
